    John Segars

    Hartwell, Ga., July 20 - John W. Segars, 73, of the Cokesbury section of Hart County, died at the Anderson Memorial Hospital at 4:30 this afternoon following a long illness.
    Mr. Segars was born in Banks County, Georgia, August 24, 1880, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Segars. He had been making his home in this section for many years, and was a member of the Cedar Creek Baptist Church, near Hartwell.
    Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Amanda Lawrence Segars; two daughters, Miss Ella Segars, of the home, Mrs. Albert Lawrence of Hartwell, six sons, Ben Segars, Henry Segars, John Ray Segars, Noah Segars, and George Segars all of Hartwell, and J. T. Segars of Anderson, S.C.; one sister, Mrs. Mary Holcombe, of Toccoa; two brothers, Will Segars and Steve Segars, both of Carnesville.
    The funeral will be held from Cokesbury Methodist Church at an hour to be announced later. The Rev. D. D. Harris and the rev. J. T. Bramblett will officiate. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.
    The Smith Funeral Home is in charge.
