Holman Segers
Lavonia, Ga., Sept. 12 - Holman Segers, 70, of Lavonia, died tonight in the Stephens County Hospital in Toccoa following an illness of about six weeks.
He was a son of Avie and Sallie Norris Segers, of Franklin County, and spent all of his life in this section. By occupation he was a farmer.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Fannie Segers of the home; one daughter, Mrs. Berta Hill, of Lavonia; seven sons, Evander Segers of Eastanollee, Buford Segers of Toccoa, Jordan Segers, Bryson, Ga., Ralph, D. B., Olin and Billy Segers, all of Lavonia; one sister, Mrs. Molly Carroll of Carnesville; six brothers, Thurston Segers, Thomasville, N.C., Waymon Segers, Royston, Manson Segers, Carnesville, Harrison, Arto (?), and Buren Segers, all of Lavonia.
Funeral services will be held from Mt. Zion Methodist Church near Carnesville at 2 p.m. Saturday. The Rev. Hubert Thurmond and the Rev. Dean Milford will officiate. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.
Weldon Funeral Home is in charge.
